It is a member of ScienceCafes and the international "Cafe Scientifique" movement.
There is no admission charge, but patrons are expected to purchase a meal from the restaurant that kindly hosts us.
We have held over 100 meetings since we started in 2009.

Chris is an oceanographer and emeritus professor at the University of Hawaii's School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology
Fred is a particle physicist and emeritus professor at the University of Hawaii's Department of Physics
Rob is a planetary scientist and emeritus specialist at the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy
Gareth initiated Honolulu Science Café in 2009 and single-handedly organized all the events until late in 2022. He is now an emeritus professor at the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy.
